One of the tangible benefits that NABA, Inc. offers its professional and student members is the opportunity to attend annual conferences. 

National Convention and Regional Student Conferences

The National Convention is the annual conference for professional members and it is hosted in a different major city each fiscal year.  Participants have the opportunity to attend leadership development seminars, technical sessions to earn CPE credits for professional certifications, including CIA and CPA certifications.

The conferences for student members are held regionally throughout the United States.  NABA, Inc. - Detroit Chapter is part of the NABA Central Region which hosts the Central Region Student Conference (CRSC) annually in October.  Students from colleges and universities across the Midwest attend the CRSC.  This conference offers technical sessions, networking with professional members and the opportunity to interview for internship and full-time positions with companies from various industries.

All conferences allow members to engage in a social networking with professional members, student members and a host of receptions sponsored by NABA’s corporate partners during the conferences. 

Division of Firms (DOF) Annual Conference

The NABA Division of Firms (DOF) organization which consists of minority accounting and financial services firms and is an extension of the NABA National Office. 

DOF also hosts regional conferences for its member firms to network and provide resources for maintaining business within surrounding communities.

Detroit Chapter Emerging Leaders Annual Conference (ELC)

The Emerging Leaders Conference (ELC) is a one-day seminar that NABA, Inc. Detroit Professional Chapter hosts annually within the City of Detroit.  The seminar provides participants with many of the critical business and leadership skills they need now and in the future.  The ELC offers the following:

  • A distinct development experience that fosters the leadership capacity of each participant, thus enhancing their ability to be successful within our quickly changing business environments
  • Prepares high potential individuals to embrace increasing levels of responsibility and equip them for the challenges and the opportunities that will accompany future leadership roles
