Purpose
Consistent with NABA’s motto of “Lifting As We Climb,” community outreach initiatives are one of NABA, Inc. - Detroit Chapter’s primary organization objectives. The Community Outreach Committee acts as a liaison between the Detroit Chapter and various community-based groups. In addition, the committee is responsible for coordinating many exciting events such as Financial Literacy workshops and community programs such as Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Accounting Career Awareness Program (ACAP), within the fiscal year that will provide our members with an opportunity to give back to the community.
The Chapter is also a partnering participant in the Annual High School Leaders Conference that is hosted annually by the Michigan Association of CPAs (MACPA). This program allows NABA, Inc. - Detroit Chapter professional and student members to volunteer at the Conference and share their work, education and career development experiences with students from various high schools across the state of Michigan.
Community Outreach Objectives
- To provide outreach to the community through grassroots efforts and partnering with other community based organizations
- To increase attendance and membership participation by both professionals and students at community service events
