2010 NABA - Detroit Board Members
Noel Abdur-Rahim, CPA, is the President of NABA - Detroit. Noel joined NABA as a student member in 2002 and served as the Vice President of the Michigan State University student chapter from 2003-2004. Noel became a NABA-Detroit professional member in 2005 and has served on the Student Membership, Scholarship, and Central Region Student Conference committees.
Noel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Michigan State University and a Masters in Accounting from Eastern Michigan University.
Currently, she is a Senior Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) in the Greater Michigan Assurance practice. Within PwC, Noel also co-leads the Market's African-American Affinity Circle, which is a network of professionals at the organization dedicated to the assimilation and success of each other within the firm. Noel is also an E-Board member of the United Nations Association - Young Professional for International Cooperation (Metro Detroit Chapter) and serves on multiple committees for both the MACPA and AICPA. Through her career and other community activities, Noel continues to enforce and live by NABA's motto of "lifting as we climb".
Kelli Henderson is the 1st Vice President of NABA - Detroit. Kelli joined NABA in 2003 and served as the 2nd Vice President in 2008-2009. Along with her duties as 1st Vice President, she is currently the Director of Community Service and Student Recruitment Chair for ACAP. Kelli won the Chapter Award for Outstanding Member in 2007-2008. She was also the Chair for the Scholarship Committee in 2009. Kelli also serves on the Student Membership, Scholarship, VITA and Central Region Student Conference committees.
Ke Juanna Culler, CISA, is the 2nd Vice President of NABA - Detroit. KeJuanna joined NABA as a professional member in 2004 and has served on the Student Member Services, ACAP, and Elections committees as well as served as the Corresponding Secretary for the chapter.
KeJuanna holds a B.S. in Management Information Systems from Oakland University and is currently employed as a Senior Associate in the Systems and Process Assurance group at PricewaterhouseCoopers. KeJuanna is active in diversity recruiting and retention efforts at PwC including co-leading the Market's African-American Affinity Circle (with N. A-Rahim), the Market's Women's Network as well as serving as a mentor for various minority high school and college partnerships. KeJuanna is a member of the Information Systems Controls and Auditing Association and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Lisa Fisher, CPA is the Treasurer of NABA - Detroit. Lisa joined NABA in 1998 as a professional member in the Portland, Oregon Chapter. Lisa has served on several committees, but her primary focus has been on Student Member Services where she served as either a committee member or committee chair for the last 7 years. Lisa has been an Executive Board member since 2009 in her current role.
Lisa holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration in Accounting and Finance from Portland State University and is currently working toward her Master’s in Accountancy (with a focus in Tax) from the University of Michigan – Dearborn.
Currently, Lisa is a Manager at Daimler North America where she is responsible for the Income Tax Accounting for the Trucking Division (including Freightliner and Detroit Diesel). Previously Lisa worked for Delphi Corporation as a Tax Manager responsible for the consolidation of the world-wide Income Tax Accounting. Prior to Delphi, Lisa worked for ~10 years at KPMG in the Assurance and Tax Practices. When Lisa left KPMG, she was a Tax Manager responsible for both Income Tax Accounting and Tax Compliance.
Chris Leslie is the Secretary of NABA - Detroit. Christopher Leslie-Chris joined NABA as student member in 2002 and served as the Vice President of the Wayne State University student chapter from 2004-2005. Chris became a professional member of the Detroit chapter in 2005 and has served on the ACAP and Student Membership Services committees. He also served as chair of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
Chris earned a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Wayne State University. Currently he is a Shared Services Supervisor for ArvinMeritor Inc. in Troy MI.
Arica Harris (formerly Morris), CISA, MBA is the Immediate Past President of NABA - Detroit and previously served on the NABA-Detroit board as Vice-President for two years. Arica joined NABA as a student member in 1995 and served as the President of the Eastern Michigan University student chapter in 1996-1998. Arica became a NABA-Detroit professional member in 1998 and has served on the Professional Membership, Student Affairs, VITA, Scholarship and the 2005 National Convention committees.
Currently, she is a manager at Deloitte & Touche L.L.P in the Enterprise Risk Services (ERS) group. In this role, she leads a number of internal co-sourcing and external IT audit projects. Arica works closely with firm leadership to support the many Deloitte minority initiatives. Prior to working at Deloitte, Arica worked at another “big four” accounting firm where she performed IT audits. Arica attributes her success to NABA for providing her with many leadership opportunities, networking and friendships and last but not least, her first job through interviewing with the other “big four” firm during a NABA student convention.
Arica holds a Bachelor's in Business Administration in accounting information systems from Eastern Michigan University and an M.B.A. from Lawrence Technological University. Arica is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. |
